![]() However the rooms came complementary if a person came to purchase their more expensive services like massages, sex, drugs, and the like. The actual place functioned like a really nice lobby/tavern with rooms on the upper floors that people could rent. During the time that we were there, the party basically paid for their stay by working various jobs for the establishment, namely innocuous stuff like cooking and cleaning to make sure it was presentable. When we actually got to the location, we spent a few days using it as a safe place while my character worked with the ‘ma’ to gather some vital intel. She was actually an incredibly skilled rogue who credited a great deal of her talents to the lessons she learned from working there. I actually played a campaign a long time back where my character was an ex-whore at a rather successful brothel in the city capital. It was a lovely contrast to show the caring and community feel of the brothel despite the fact that they are all sex workers who could be considered something like my BBEG, but clearly are not! It's a great opportunity to misdirect expectations I also have a BBEG in my world, The Goddess of Decadence, who is super exploitative and truly uses people. My players were looking for a missing friend, and as soon as it was clear that was their intention, most of the workers took the situation extremely seriously and leaned in to help out. One person loved to be dominated (we left that to mostly fade to black with a CON saving throw because of the nature of how physical that type of intimacy can be - the player got a nat20 and we all laughed, and we are all extremely good friends for years), but otherwise we moved through that to the type of information they got pretty quickly based off persuasion rolls. I had fun revealing more about the patrons by the things that their preferred workers did. Many sex workers will tell you that their work is far more about intimacy than it is about lots of sex (though that does happen too). When they got to their room, the worker turns to him and gently asks "okay, do you want to be big spoon or little spoon today?" ![]() I recently ran a brothel and one of my players was alter-self'd as one of her regular clients. Mainly, I was wondering if any of you have run a brothel session before and if you had any ideas, tricks, or tips for running something like that. I ended up purchasing and reading some of this Brothel Supplement (this is a supplement PDF from DM's Guild with inspiration for races, classes, and story points to use in a brothel setting called The Best Little Whorehouse In RPGs) from DM's Guild to have a better understanding of how to run something like this and I was also thinking of picking this other supplement (this is a supplement PDF from DM's Guild with generation techniques for a brothel scenario called The Jester Dragon's Random Brothel Generator) up from DM's Guild to help generate things. Knowing my players, they're going to want to partake in some, not all, of the fun a brothel has to offer. However, there will be some time between when that person arrives and when they start setting up the area. Ultimately, the group is now set to start a watch around and inside the brothel itself since there has been previous disappearings that ended up having someone return and remove the person's items from their homes. She worked at the brothel stealing secrets she was told from the wives of rich men who would come to visit her for this underground group who is protecting Lycanthropic people in the town. However, this NPC's quest is to find this woman who has gone missing who was an integral part of their underground rogue ring. My players have entered a section of the story where they're essentially doing a sidequest for someone so that person can send out their scouts to find information on a group that tried to attack them.
